SUMMARY:Balt Camp to Nolans Picnic Ground
DESCRIPTION:
 Situated in the Wombat State Forest\, this walk follows quie
 t tracks and part of the Great Divide Trail. Commencing at the historic Ba
 lt Camp ruins\, we follow Mountainview Track east to Nolan Creek Road.&nbs
 p\; If it has been cleared after the damaging storms of 2021\, we will use
  the slightly shorter Day Track.&nbsp\; Lunch is at the pretty Nolan Picni
 c Ground near the source of the Lerderderg River.&nbsp\; Using the GDWT we
  walk south to Stockyard Creek Track.&nbsp\; Here the tree ferns and black
 wood trees are resplendent.&nbsp\; A short uphill returns us to the cars.&
 nbsp\; It is an interesting part of Wombat State Forest.&nbsp\; Balt Camp 
 was a forestry camp for male refugees from the Baltic States after WW2 and
  the Adel Mine site is across the road.&nbsp\; Nolans Picnic Ground was on
 ce the site of a sawmill.&nbsp\; There are a few steep ascents and descent
 s\, some rocky surfaces and at times evidence of the recent storms.&nbsp\;
  Walking poles are recommended.
