We catch the 8:30am train towards South Geelong and get off at Geelong for the 9:45am 55 Bus to Barwon Heads.  We then start walking from the Barwon Heads Bowling club for a morning tea stop, then through the park and back streets before joining the track around the Bluff.  Descending to the beach, we then cross the bridge to Ocean Grove – walking along the beach to the Surf Club for lunch, where there is a kiosk.

After lunch we’ll walk to a bus stop for the 1:19pm bus back to Geelong.  The plan is to catch the 3:30pm ferry from Geelong back to Docklands, however members can also return to Melbourne by train.  To catch the ferry, we will need to get off the bus at Moorabool Street to buy Ferry tickets in time for a leisurely afternoon tea before catching the Ferry.

There are toilets at Geelong station, near Barwon Heads Bowling Club, Ocean Grove beach and on the ferry/Vline trains.

Please provide me with the names of your grandchildren, so I can register them for the event.  Children will need the appropriate Myki for the trains and buses with a credit of at least $11.00 (and Seniors $23.00) if travelling the round trip by train.  The one-way Ferry fares are: Adult $18.00 Seniors, $16.00 and Children, $10.00.  Bring morning tea, snacks and lunch, although the kiosk may be open at our lunch stop.

Meet: 8:15am, Southern Cross Station near the vintage clock inside the station concourse on the corner of Spencer and Collins Streets.   You can also meet at Geelong station at 9:30am for the bus trip, or at Barwon Heads Bowling Club before 10:20am.
