Quarry Hills. Sth Morang
bunjil nganga Parkland (Quarry Hills) is a delightful area in South Morang. It is an isolated range of granite and metamorphic rock, close to suburbia, which offers great walking.
Our walk will be 13 to 14 kilometres.
Starting at an off road parking area at the Mill Park Lakes Reserve, we will follow tree lined streets north to an access to the Granite Hills section of the Park. From there we loop around to the Quarry Hills Range and walk south to the Foothills. Another path then takes us around the wetlands to a cafe and from there it is approximately 2 km to the cars.
The 360 degree views are amazing. All the mountain ranges around Melbourne are visible and it is interesting to try and identify local landmarks. However, it is an exposed ridge and therefore can be very windy and wet. It is undulating at times but is it almost all on good tracks. Overall it is a most rewarding walk.
Meeting place: Melways 183 B6 There is off street parking on the south side of The Lakes Bouvelard in Sth Morang, near sporting facilities. Car pooling is possible from Pascoe Vale.
Meeting Time: 9.15 for a 9.30 start

Wyndham Vale to Werribee.
Having completed the section from Geelong to Lara on the trek from Geelong to Moonee Ponds, it has been considered unsafe to walk from Lara to the Werribee area, so we cheat a little and take the train from Lara to Wyndham Vale to restart the walk. This has already been done many times since the start at Geelong, so no need to repeat it.
We meet at the Vintage Clock at Southern Cross Station by 8.50 am. to catch the 9.10 am train to South Geelong, dropping the walkers off at 9.44 am at Wyndham Vale.
( The train stops to pick up at Footscray - 9.18 am., Sunshine - 9.23 am., Deer Park - 9.28 am., Tarneit 9.37 am.,)
Anyone travelling directly to Wyndham Vale by car should plan to arrive by 9.40 am to give you time to find a parking spot.( Note: the walk finishes at Werribee Station so if travelling by car, you will need to get (bus) back to Wyndham Vale).
The walk starts at Wyndham Vale Station and heads out to Manor Lakes Boulevard, and then follows Lollypop Creek to Greens Road before leaving the Creek and heading towards Presidents Park (toilets) via an open space and floodway
A circuit of Presidents Park takes us to the Werribee River, where we follow the walking track on the Western side
of the river to arrive at Werribee Station for the finish and the Metro train home.
