Walk
Sugarloaf Reservoir Circuit
Sugarloaf Reservoir is an important water storage area for Melbourne. Located at Christmas Hills, north-east of the CBD, the reservoir provides an ideal area for a 15-16km circuit walk. The terrain is varied and undulating with rewarding views. It is a pleasant walk in tranquil surrounds.
We will meet at Ridge Picnic Ground. Note the entrance to it is on the left soon after entering the main gate. I will park in the smaller of the lower parking areas here but both are very close to each other. Don't go over the dam wall to Saddle dam Picnic Area. There are toilets at the start of the walk and half way through.

Westmeadows - Gellibrand Hill- Woodlands HP Circuit.
This is a repeat of the walk held on a Sat in early January this year, for the midweek walkers and anyone that may have been on family duties during the earlier walk and is a reschedule of the walk cancelled on 4 Feb. this year due to extreme heat.
This is an easy walk, starting at Westmeadows Oval. It includes a walk along the Moonee Ponds Creek Trail to Woodlands Historic Park, a circuit of Gellibrand Hill, followed by walking through the Eastern area of Woodlands Park that was once part of the Back Paddock(Bandicoot Enclosure). Getting back to the Moonee Creek Trail, we follow the creek back to the finish at Westmeadows Oval.
The walk can be increased or decreased, depending on the forecast weather conditions for the area. If the forecast conditions are for above 30 deg. C, the walk may be cancelled.
Runners will be satisfactory and poles not really needed. Toilets are available at the start/finish area
Refreshments will be available after the walk at the nearby Mayflour Cafe.
Tarilta Creek Circuit
This walk is in the Upper Loddon State Forest. (General area - between Daylesford and Castlemaine) It's a loop walk, along some quiet 4WD tracks, a little on the Great Divide walking track, and quite a lot off-track - either through open forest or along the valley of Tarilta creek. It's not particularly long or hilly, and in fact is very pleasant, but is rated medium/hard because quite a lot of the walk is off-track. Distance 11.5km.
The meeting point, and start of the walk, is a small car-park where the Dry Diggings Track (part of the Great Divide Trail) crosses Porcupine Ridge Road. (It's about 100m N of the intersection of Loop Track (signposted with green post/sign) with Porcupine Ridge Road. Another marker is that the intersection is 2.2km after Porcupine Ridge Road turns to a dirt road, as you're travelling North. Meet 9.30am at the start point.
If car-pooling, meet at 8am at Airport West (Westfield car-park, to the West of Target).
Coffee after the walk at Glenlyon General Store, provided we can get there in time. Or Daylesford.
Mt Everard Circuit- Kinglake
A delightful 15.5 circuit in the Kinglake area. It is all on tracks and mainly follows the treed ridgeline. There are some steep, rough descents and at least one long, but gradual ascent. It is well worth the effort. The forest has rejuvenated beautifully after the Black Saturday fires of 2009.
Poles are recommended.
The meeting place is the Everard Track Car Park on the Heidelberg/Kinglake Rd, about 3 km south of Kinglake. It is a relatively small car park and I suggest car pooling.
There are no formal toilets on this walk. Public toilets can be found at either Kinglake or St Andrews en route to the start.
Mullum Mullum Trail
This is a lovely walk through the reserves along the Mullum Mullum Creek from Mitcham to Doncaster East. Especially for summer periods, we shall be under shades of trees along both sides of the trail. For the bird lovers, there should be non-stop bird singing along the trail. Trail is sealed track, hence, hiking boots and poles are optional. The track is mostly flat with a few short up/downs.
Meeting place: Beasley's Nursery, 195 Heidelberg-Warrandyte Rd, Warrandyte VIC 3113.
Meeting time: 8:30 am for 8:45 am start.
Toilets are available along the Mullum Mullum Creek Trail.

This walk is about 10km. Boots and poles recommended.
