Railway Dam is a quiet spot on the edge of the Fryers Range State Forest, between Chewton and Elphinstone. Meeting at the bush camping area across the road from the dam, we will first complete the Junction Walk, learning a little of the history of this area. After completing the Junction walk we will pick up an old water race following this for a short section before making our way along mountain bike tracks and dirt roads.
There should be plenty of spring wildflowers on display and we will also view some beautiful brick culverts built in the 1880's.
The walk involves walking on water races which will have obstacles and are overgrown in spots. Sections of the walk will be over rocky / loose surfaces. there are several hills in the walk, and while not overly long do have steep sections. this is a partial Bob Friendly walk
