Walk
Organ Pipes Circuit
Note: Neil Duncan is the new leader for this event.
This walk will take us to areas of the park not usually accessed by the public. It does involve some off track walking and 2-3 steep hillsides to scramble up without a path. Gaitors would be useful as grass seeds will be prolific and poles would also be useful if you use them.
Dandenongs walk
A loop walk of the Olinda section of the national park including the Arboretum

Beaconsfield Upper Ash Wednesday 40th anniversary memorial walk
On 16 February 1983 twelve CFA firefighters, in trucks from Narre Warren and Panton Hill, also lost their lives on a narrow bush track at the Critchley Parker Junior Reserve when the fire overran them. This walk commemorates their lives.
The walk consists of 10km of easy walking and an optional 3km of medium walking.

Part Two - 6km walk along St George's Road path to visit the secuded firefighters' memorial at Critchley Parker Junior Reserve. This includes a 3km medium loop with two very steep descents on a 4WD track and a steady long ascent. Option to sit out the medium section but bring your walking poles and boots if you do come.

Dandenong Ranges Walk
The ferny gullies and tall mountain ash trees provide a much cooler walking environment in summer and still within striking distance of the city. This walk starts (and ends) at Grants Picnic Ground in the Dandenong Ranges. This walk is all on walking tracks and once away from the road, it is hard to believe that suburban Melbourne is nearby. Along the walk we will have a chance to view Sherbrooke Falls and hopefully see lyrebrids as well as the many other bird species that frequent this area. Being the Dandenong Ranges therre are a couple of hills to navigate. Parts of the track are likley to be muddy if there has been recent rain, but overall this is a very pleasant walk to kick off the 2023 walking season.
Suitable for Bobs and non-Bobs alike!
Werribee - Wyndham Vale Circuit.
An easy walk to get back into the walking routine. The walk starts at Werribee Station and follows the Werribee River north to Heaths Road where we enter Presidents Park. Here we follow a hidden track alongside the river to reach a pleasant spot for a morning tea break. Leaving the river, the walk continues across Presidents Park to the Adventure Playground where there are toilets.
The walk then continues south along a floodway to the Gordon O'Keeffe Reserve and on to Bulban Road which takes us past the Werribee Racecourse and then into Wyndham Park and back to the finish at Werribee Station.
No hills to climb, perhaps a few undulations and a bit of uneven ground alongside the river, so walking poles not required and walking shoes or runners should be ok.
Meet at Flinders Street Station Coffee Shops by 8.30 am. in time to catch the 8.37 am. train to Werribee. This train stops at North Melbourne Station at 8.44 am. and those coming by train from the northern suburbs may choose to catch the Werribee train at this station.
Those walkers from the Tarneit or Werribee areas can use one of he local bus services to Werribee Station or travel by car. Parking may be a problem close to the station, but the meeting place and start of the walk will be at the northern entrance to Werribee Station next to the bus stopping areas- in time for a 9.30am. start.
Please note: If the weather forecast for the Werribee area on the walk day indicates a forecast maximum temperature of 30 degrees or above, the walk may be postponed to another day and all registrants informed by email.
