SUMMARY:Castlemaine to Maldon Steam rail return
DESCRIPTION:Please Note: V/Line trains will be replaced by buses between So
 uthern Cross and Gisborne on this date.
 Castlemaine Steam train walk.&nb
 sp\; 10kms Easy (to Muckleford\, then train to Maldon and return to Castle
 maine.&nbsp\; Start at Camp Reserve (near the Castlemaine Railway Station 
 at 8:45am.
 Starting from Camp Reserve we walk 2 kms through town to join
  the Castlemaine to Maldon Trail.&nbsp\; We then follow the Steam Rail lin
 e for the remaining 8 kms to Muckleford for the train to arrive at 11.55am
 .&nbsp\; Upon arrival at Maldon shortly after midday\, we can do a short e
 xploratory walk around town\, or spend some free time browsing the shops a
 nd having a long lunch before returning to Castlemaine by train at 2:45pm.
 
 There will be some moderate hills.&nbsp\;&nbsp\; The walking track may 
 be wet and slippery\, so walking boots\, gaiters and poles are recommended
 .&nbsp\; Approximate cost is $34 for the return Steam train trip.

 An&nbsp\;additional walk&nbsp\;in the area is s
 cheduled on Tuesday the 16th for those wishing to spend one\, two or three
  nights in the area\, watch out for info re this Mini base camp.
