SUMMARY:Langi Ghiran Exploratory
DESCRIPTION:Langi Ghiran State Park is situated just North of the Western H
 ighway\, about 15km East of Ararat. It is forested granite range with a va
 riety of walks possible.
 This short (weekend) base camp is an \"explorat
 ory\" two days - walk Leader Jim assisted by co-leader Marion will be look
 ing to map out the route of a possible 2 day pack walk at a later date.
 
 As an exploratory walk\, the exact route and activities cannot be specifie
 d fully\, but this is the initial plan ...Saturday&nbsp\;- meet at the pic
 nic/camping ground\, with the walking for the day to be (probably) two sho
 rt walks - Langi Ghiran art walking track (2km) and Reservoir Track and Wa
 ter Race Circuit (5+ km).Sunday -&nbsp\;Ascend Mt Langi Ghiran from the NE
 \, descend to the South\, passing Hidden Lagoon (8 to 10km?). Much of this
  day will be off-track.Some car travel/shuffling may occur on each day.
 
 Accommodation (on Saturday night) - the suggestion is light car-based camp
 ing at the Picnic/Camping ground. The bright lights of Ararat are another 
 option\, though\, if you have transport.
