SUMMARY:Tarneit to Werribee via the Werribee River.
DESCRIPTION:The walk starts at Tarneit Station and heads through Tarneit We
st to Davis Creek. We then follow this creek south to about 1 km. south of
Hogans Road to a point where the Werribee River joins up with Davis Creek
. We continue to walk alongside the Werribee River as it continues to flow
towards Port Phillip Bay to the walk finish at Werribee Station.
 During
the walk we will pass both modern and historical points of interest\, inc
luding Cowies Hill Water Tower \, the Hume and Hovell Memorial Tree\, the
sit of the Golden Fleece Inn\, the site of the Chaffey brothers Werribee I
rrigation Colony\, Riverbend Historical Park and the Southern Water Divers
ion Dam. If the water level has subsided enough by the time of the walk \,
we may be able to cross the Werribee River ito Presidents Park at one of
the few crossings or one time fords in the area - without getting wet feet
 ?
The walk finishes at Werribee Station where there are two options for
 returning home.

Catch a Metro train at Werribee Station towards Flind
ers St. Station\, using Footscray\, North Melbourne or Flinders St. Statio
ns as an interchange for you local line.
Catch a bus back toTarneit Stat
ion to catch a V Line train back to where you started from in the morning.
Bus services 170\, 180 and 182 will all take you back to Tarneit Station
within 30 minutes\, and you get a sight seeing tour of Werribee\, Hoppers
Crossing and Tarneit for no extra cost?‍♂️. The walk is mostly on su
burban paths or cycle tracks and is mainly flat\, so runners would be suit
able unless it has been raining in the days before the walk. Walking poles
are not necessary unless you feel more comfortable using them. The follow
ing train timetable is suitable for getting you to Tarneit in time for the
start (VLine permitting). &nbsp\; &nbsp\;&nbsp\;Southern Cross. dep. &nbs
