DESCRIPTION:The Walk(s):. We will meet in the car park at Beasley’s Tea H
 ouse at 09:30. We will then walk along the Mullum Mullum Creek trail to th
 e Templestowe Hill Climb (signage about the Hill climb) and then walk to T
 arget Road and Rd follow the Yarra River\, we will see the Oldest Homestea
 d in the Area area( Pontville) First permanent house to be built(1840) in 
 the Doncaster-Templestowe area. Owned by Major Charles Newman who had been
  offered a land grant for his services to the Crown. He built Monkton on a
  hill across the river it was demolished in June 1968 . You will hear abou
 t Charles and his interaction with the aboriginal people Walk past the con
 fluence of Mullum Mullum Creek and past Petty’s Orchard &nbsp\;one of th
 e oldest commercial orchards in Melbourne. We then walk to Leinster Farm W
 etland\, lunch \, then walk to a viewing platform \, birdhide and the conf
 luence of Diamond Creek and the&nbsp\; and then return back to Beasley’s
  along the Mullum Mullum trail&nbsp\; for afternoon tea. &nbsp\;
