DESCRIPTION:The Walk(s): We will meet in the car park at Beasley’s Tea Ho
 use at 09:30. We will then walk along the Mullum Mullum Creek trail to the
  Templestowe Hill Climb (signage about the Hill climb) and then walk to Ta
 rget Road and follow the Yarra River\, we will see the Oldest Homestead in
  the Area area (Pontville)\, first permanent house to be built (1840) in t
 he Doncaster-Templestowe area. Owned by Major Charles Newman who had been 
 offered a land grant for his services to the Crown. He built Monkton on a 
 hill across the river\; it was demolished in June 1968 . You will hear abo
 ut Charles and his interaction with the aboriginal people. &nbsp\;Walk pas
 t the confluence of Mullum Mullum Creek\, and past Petty’s Orchard &nbsp
 \;one of the oldest commercial orchards in Melbourne.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;We then
  walk to Leinster Farm Wetland\, lunch\, then walk to a viewing platform\,
  birdhide and the confluence of Diamond Creek and then return back to Beas
 ley’s along the Mullum Mullum trail for afternoon tea. &nbsp\;

 nbsp\; Your happy smiles\, cameras\, usual day walking gear\, water\, snac
 ks and lunch\, afternoon tea. Cake will be provided
