Below are details of our scheduled Future Events and Base Camps:

Date: Monday, 23rd to Friday 27th of August 2021
Event: Major Mitchell Walk - Stage 10
Leader: Bill Casey
Details: 5 day linear walk totalling 89km.  All sections are on roads including the Princes Highway on 4th day, so bright clothing is recommended.  Accommodation should be self-booked at Casterton.   Meet 8.30am on first day opposite the Glenelg Inn, Casterton.

Date: Saturday, 23 October, 2021.
Event: Annual Marathon,
Leader: Chris Jarvis, (check program for booking and contact details).
Details: It’s back on! Chris Jarvis and Karen Armitage are pleased to announce that this year’s Annual Marathon, the club’s 27th such event, deferred from 2020, will be a 43km anti-clockwise circuit starting and finishing at Jubilee Lake on the southern outskirts of Daylesford. Going past Lake Daylesford, the route heads south past (not visiting) Sailors Falls, then swinging north at Korweinguboora and back to Jubilee Lake. Mostly easy terrain on forest tracks, with some walking tracks, and a few short sections on roads. The most undulating stage is in the pre-lunch period, it gets mostly easier from then, but there are a couple of short steep sections near the end. Broken up into six stages between which walkers meet the support crew for refreshments, and walkers can drop in or out of stages as they like.
After the walk, which will probably finish around 7pm, there will be a post-walk dinner at a local pub, TBA.
The event fee is $7 per person, with support team members exempt. This covers catering and petrol costs for the support team. Payment only by Direct Debit to Chris, prior to the event, stay tuned for payment details.
We would appreciate registrations via the club’s on-line booking no later than one month prior to enable logistics to be finalised. When booking, please indicate whether you will be a Walker or Support Crew.
There will be a limit of twenty-five walkers (pending any DHHS rulings on group sizes), plus we need about six support crew. For the walkers, late bookings may be placed on a waiting list if all twenty-five places are taken.
Naturally, COVID-19 may force late changes to event capacity, or even if it can go ahead.
Chris and Karen look forward to seeing you there on the day.
